Latest Huawei P20 Pro Leak Confirms Triple Camera Setup And More

P20 and P20 Pro – Huawei’s upcoming flagships – have kept us waiting for a long time now and will finally be unveiled, alongside P20 Lite, tomorrow in Paris.

The siblings are coming with great displays, hardware, and amazing cameras – the P20 Pro has been rumored to have a triple-camera setup and this rumor has been confirmed thanks to spec sheets leaked by a retailer in Germany.

Here’s what Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will be like.

Design and Display

Both phones, P20 and P20 Pro have near bezel-less displays with an iPhone X-like notch on top. According to leaked specs, P20 will come with a 5.84-inch LTPS IPS LCD with a resolution of 1080 x 2240p. A 6.1-inch AMOLED panel will be featured in the P20 Pro and the resolution will be the same 1080 x 2240p.

All three are expected to have the same design, premium glass build, vertical camera set up, notches, and front-mounted fingerprint sensors. In P20 Pro, however, a triple camera set up – with the same vertical arrangement – has been confirmed.

Hardware and Storage

Unsurprisingly, Huawei will pack both P20 and P20 Pro with an octa-core Kirin 970 SoC. P20 will come with 4 GB and P20 Pro with 6 GB RAM.

Both variants will have an internal storage of 128 GB and it’s unclear whether the storage is expandable via microSD or not.

Camera and Software

Huawei P20 is coming with a familiar dual-cam set up featuring a primary 20 MP and secondary 12 MP sensor – most probably an RGB and Monochrome combo like the Mate 10 series. The front cam on the P20 is 24 MP.

The main attraction, however, is P20 Pro’s triple camera setup, boasting a 40 MP primary, 20 MP secondary, and an 8 MP tertiary sensor.

The details of the nature of these sensors are uncertain, however, experts suggest that the 8 MP sensor will be telephoto to support 3x optical zoom and 5x magnification. The 20 MP sensor will be Monochrome to add depth and lighting into low-light shots.

A similar 24 MP front-cam is expected in the P20 Pro as well.

Battery, Price, and Availability

According to the spec sheet, P20 will house a 3,400 mAh battery and P20 Pro has a 4,000 mAh unit. Huawei SuperCharge technology is available in both variants which are both expected to be chargeable via USB Type-C.
