Social media is being extensively used by businessmen to reach out to their customers, especially on Facebook. You often see proper brands and businesses selling their products & services over social media in a legitimate way. However, Facebook is also being used to bypass normal, legal channels when it comes to selling products.

One of these activities is the open advertisement and sale of non-custom paid vehicles, which are smuggled across the borders, by using the Facebook platform. These individuals also offer “customer service”, and even deliver these vehicles to the buyers.

Apparently, these advertisers are running free as the Pakistani authorities have failed to abolish this practice. The social media is full of such suppliers, some even provide their phone numbers in public posts that should be more than easy to trace for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

These pages also use other channels such as online advertising platforms for cars and have managed to establish connections and decent viewership to continue their “businesses”. As seen in the post, they also use WhatsApp to talk to their customers.

“Whenever the cybercrime unit gets a complaint, the agency reacts, investigate and take legal action, whatsoever is required,” – Syed Shahid Hassan, Deputy Director of Cybercrime

Such vehicles can easily be used in criminal activities or terrorist attacks or other illegal activities, due to their expendable nature and cheap costs. The traffickers move these vehicles from the borders, and drive them across the country to deliver them to the customer.

Its still unclear how their payments are processed, this is likely done on a “cash-on delivery” basis using cold hard cash.

This the best way to buy & sell second-hand AUTO car every where in the country by hook & crook entered through any way. By the way if police & ranger will check paper then hand over one hundred note in their hand (this system of bribery is popular in Pakistan and renounced all over the world that Pakistani are dis-honest people). Jamil abroad.

  • same kind of corruption/story for each and every single depart of Pakistan almost…. but unfortunately no one wants to do any positive action or anything practically to have some positive results or stop these corruptions….we all loves to make comments and think we done our job and management/responsible persons will handle it (like they are doing from last 30 to 40 years)…

  • I support NCP vehicles the government doesn’t deserve tax and duties we pay

  • I think, author have not done proper research, wrote a blog post after seeing an ad.

It’s normal to buy a non custom paid vehicle and then pay custom, legalize it to drive in taxed areas.

For example, in PATA/Malakand división and FATA you can own a non custom paid car or any vehicle (all are imported from Afghanistan) and registered to owner in nearby police station.

If you have a car, you can drive up to chitral and down till Dargai before Mardan. If you want to go out of Malakand boundary then you have to pay a hefty tax, buy a proper number plate to drive all over in country.

Malankand(Swat,Buner) is non taxed sgenca since it’s merger with Pakistan in 1969.

In Swat, people buy a car in Chaman, pay amount to a driver(custom official) who drives with a fake number plate to buyer in Swat in less than 24 hours. As soon the car enters Malakand, it’s immediately registered with a police station and gets a number plate(valid for Malakand division only).

This is how it works ;-)

    • Yes that’s true, but such vehicles are also brought within major cities by individuals who illegally drive it across the country from the borders.

It’s cheaper to buy these vehicles, even if you get them registered. Though its a common practice, doesn’t mean its a legal practice :)

You should know by now that a lot of “common practices” in Pakistan are illegal, some are even unethical.

  • in Larkana we call them Disposable cars. My mammu once bought a high-end Land Cruiser for his friend to take it with his Baraat. He bought it in 275k. But you can’t really take them out of the city as FIA/Excise police will catch you coz of lack of papers.

  • non custom paid 340000 ki aur custom paid 1500000 ki , kia yeh zulm nahi?
