Registrations Open for Naya Pakistan Housing Program

Registration process for Naya Pakistan Housing Program under the vision of Prime Minster Imran Khan began on Monday.

Long queues were observed in the front of NADRA Mega Centre Blue area. Some people reached the start at 5 am. However, photo state machine owners were reportedly collecting Rs 250-300 per form which is free of cost as announced by the government.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Naya Pakistan Housing Authority Registration Center in Islamabad, Minister of State for Interior said the initiative would help enhance public trust in the state institutions and create job opportunities besides providing affordable shelter to the masses.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had launched the mega housing project on 10th of this month. Initially, the project has been launched in seven districts including Islamabad, Quetta, Sukkur, Faisalabad, Swat, Muzaffarabad and Gilgit.

The registration forms can be downloaded from the NADRA website and submitted in the respective housing program offices till 21st of December.

The Minister said that there is a need of around 10 million in the country. Currently the housing initiative is being monitored by Special Task Force, while on the directive of PM a Housing Regulatory Authority would be constituted, he added.

He said that through the one window operation public trust in the state would be restored by facilitating them and providing them their basic rights.

The Minister also took notice of selling housing forms allegedly by people having photo state machines in the area and directed police on the spot to arrest and proceed against them as per the law.
