Chris Gayle Wants to “Chill” With PM Imran Khan

Hard-Hitting batsman and the T20 specialist Chris Gayle is known for his humorous and jolly nature.

However, his witty comments also land him in trouble sometimes, as previously happened during Big Bash League when he faced an outcry for publically asking out a female reporter.

This time, the West Indies’ explosive opening batsman has expressed his desire to wish Prime Minister Imran Khan if Pakistan could arrange a private jet for him.

He made these remarks after smashing 73 runs in recently-concluded Afghan Premier League (APL) in Sharjah.

The cricketing rockstar spoke to a local sports news website SportsMirchi and said that he would like to visit Pakistan as well as Afghanistan and chill with their premier (Imran Khan) who was a former cricket star.

“I have never visited Pakistan, but would love to go there and meet the Prime Minister Imran Khan who captained the national cricket team as well. And maybe I get a chance to chill with a world cup winner,” Gayle told Sports Mirchi.

In response to a question, Gayle made a tongue in cheek comment that his only condition would be if the Pakistan government provides him with a private jet.

“I have never been to Afghanistan. We will have to wait and see if I will undertake a trip there [for the second edition of the APL next year]. If you have a private jet then send it to me, and that would be my condition to visit Pakistan and Afghanistan,” he joked.

Interestingly, Gayle’s statement is not true as he visited Pakistan for a full series with his team back in 2006. Windies team played three Tests and four ODIs during the tour and Gayle was part of every game.

This gives us a hint that the swashbuckling opener has a memory as weak as his performances against the Pakistan cricket team.
