Govt Officially Announces Hajj 2019 Policy

The federal government has approved the Hajj policy 2019 which clearly states that there will be no Hajj on government expenses for anyone.

The policy reveals that this year a total of 1,84,210 Pakistani pilgrims will perform Hajj – 10,000 seats would be reserved for senior citizens above the age of 80 years, while another 10,000 seats would be reserved for persons who have been unsuccessful in the ballot for the last three years.

Similarly, the Hajj dues for the children born on/after 15 September 2017 will be Rs. 12,910 for North and Rs. 11,910 for South.

Who Can Apply?

All the aspirant Hajis will require a valid Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) and an International Machine Readable Pakistani Passport (IMRPP) with validity up to October 02, 2020. However, a passport with validity up to February 02, 2020 will also be considered.

How to Apply?

You can acquire and submit Hajj applications from any of the 14 banks listed below, between February 25 to March 6.

  • Askari Bank,
  • Dubai Islamic Bank.

The computerized balloting for the selection of Hajis will be made on 8th of the next month.

Hajj Expenses for 2019

The policy states that Hajj expenses under the Government Scheme will be Rs. 436,975 for Northern region (Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Sialkot, Faisalabad Multan, and Rahim Yar Khan), while Rs. 426,975 for Southern region,(Karachi, Quetta, and Sukkur). An additional amount of Rs. 19,451 will be optional for Hajjis.

All the Hujjaj will be provided five liters of Zam Zam.
