Government Extends Last Date for Hajj Applications

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has extended the last date for submitting Hajj applications under the government scheme.

The deadline, which was ending on March 6 (Wednesday), has now been extended till Monday, March 11.

A spokesperson of the ministry confirmed that the balloting to choose the lucky pilgrims will also take place on March 11 instead of March 9.

Note that March 9 was a Saturday and many banks either observe a full holiday or remain open for very few hours.

According to the ministry’s spokesperson, the date was extended to facilitate the intending pilgrims, especially from the areas hit by snowfall and floods.

He said that the ministry had received requests from such areas to extend the date because several people were facing difficulties in submitting applications due to various reasons.
