President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, will confer 127 civil awards to Pakistani and foreign nationals on Pakistan Day – 23 March.
The civil awards are conferred based on excellence in respective fields.
These awards include Nishan-i-Imtiaz, Pride of Performance Award, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-i-Pakistan, Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam, Sitara-i-Pakistan, and Sitara-i-Shuja’at.
The award for bravery, Sitara-i-Shuja’at will go to Shaheed Mairaj Ahmed Umrani (Balochistan), Shaheed Nawabzada Mir Siraj Raisani (Balochistan), Muhammad Idrees Shaheed and Asad Ali (Sindh).
In sports, Pakistani test cricketer Yasir Shah will be conferred with the Pride of Performance award. Different actors including Shabbir Jan, Reema Khan, Babra Sharif, and Iftikhar Thakur will get the Pride of Performance awards.
In the public service domain, Shoaib Sultan Khan will receive the Nishan-i-Imtiaz. Sajjad Ali, Ataullah Esakhelvi, Mehwish Hayat and Sardar Ali Takkur will be conferred with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
8 Hilal-i-Imtiaz awards will be given to different personalities including Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Professor Abdul Bari Khan, Dr. Michael Jansen (Germany), Professor Dr. Recep Akdag (Turkey), Professor Dr. Tasawar Hayat, Ghulam Asghar, and Zaheer Ayub Baig.
Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam award will be awarded to three Chinese nationals including Hu Xiaolian, Wang Xiaotao, and Kong Xuanyou whereas Sitara-i-Pakistan will be decorated on Lin Yi and Long Yuxiang from China, Mohammad Ilyas Khan from AJ&K and Wajiha Haris from Romania.
The names were announced in a Cabinet Division press release on Sunday.
