The left-arm pacer was due to play nine matches in May and July, as per the earlier agreement between the county side and the player. However, he will now be available for two more Championship matches and the entirety of the Royal London One-Day Cup. Sussex Cricket’s official website confirmed the development earlier today.
The seamer will now be available for Sussex’s opening clash against Leicestershire which starts from 5th April.
The 26-year old will be donning shirt number 92 for the county and his opening match will be against Mohammad Abbas’ Leicestershire. It remains to be seen when Abbas joins the Foxes family.
Hamza has been consistently among the leading wicket-takers in Pakistan’s domestic circuit and debuted for Pakistan against Australia last year. He is an excellent exponent of seam and swing and his availability for a longer period will boost Sussex’s pace bowling attack.
