The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced a new organizational structure to deal with international taxes.
The board issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday. The notice announced that the FBR will set up offices in Islamabad and five other cities.

The federal capital will get the office of director-general on International Tax Operations while each provincial headquarters will get an office of director international taxes.
FBR intends to establish a separate office in Multan to cater to South Punjab.

These offices will exchange financial information of expatriates with international departments under a multilateral tax convention with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) nations to avoid double taxation.
