Oppo’s Budget Friendly A9 2020 to Launch With a 5000 mAh Battery

Just five months after the release of Oppo A9 (2019), Oppo has unveiled the A9 (2020) even though the year 2020 is three months away. Aside from this, the mid-ranger boasts some impressive specifications and aggressive pricing. It is one of the few smartphones on the market that sport a massive 5000 mAh battery with reverse charging, a feature mostly reserved for premium flagships.

Design and Display

Design-wise, Oppo A9 (2020) looks very much like the Oppo A9 (2019), except that it comes with a quad-sensor setup on the back. The smartphone comes in two colors: Space Purple and Marine Green. The waterdrop notch at the front houses the selfie camera and the fingerprint sensor are mounted on the back.

The display is a 6.5-inch LCD panel with HD+ (720p) resolution, 89% screen-to-body ratio and 270 PPI pixel density.

Internal and Storage

Oppo A9 (2020) has a Snapdragon 665 SoC at the helm, in combination with 4GB or 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in storage. The memory can be expanded via a dedicated memory card slot.

On the software front, the smartphone comes with ColorOS 6.0.1 skinned Android 9.0 Pie. It also comes with dual stereo speakers and Game Boost 2.0.

Cameras

The camera specifications of the Oppo A9 (2020) are the biggest upgrade over its predecessor. Oppo A9 (2020) features a quad sensor rear camera with a 48 MP main sensor joined by an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor, and two 2 MP units. The cameras come with portrait styling options and Oppo’s Ultra-night mode 2.0.

At the front, the smartphone sports a 16 MP single sensor for selfies.

Battery and Pricing

The whole package is fueled by a massive 5000 mAh battery which is capable of reverse charging. The battery, however, is charged over the old-school MicroUSB 2.0, which is a bummer since the battery will take about three hours to charge and even in mid-range devices, Type-C is to be expected.

The smartphone has been listed on Oppo Pakistan’s website and is due to launch in India on 16^th September. Hence the prices will be revealed after the official launch.
