Motorola’s First Smart TV is Coming This Week

Smart TVs are quickly becoming the norm these days with all major companies offering one. Most smartphone brands already have their own Smart TVs and recent reports suggest that Motorola (under Lenovo) is also looking to grab a slice of that pie.

The company is all set to launch its new mid-range smartphone, the Motorola E6 Plus on an upcoming launch event in India and reports suggest that Motorola will be launching their first Smart TV on the same event.

The Smart TV will debut on the Indian market on September 16. It will run on Android 9 Pie TV OS and will be powered by a Mediatek chipset with a Mali 450 GPU. The Smart TV will feature smooth refresh rates thanks to the MEMC technology which will not only deliver a good viewing experience but will also ensure smooth gaming performance with no stutters or tearing.

PhoneRadar leaked an image of the TV and although it only shows a small part of it, it does give us an idea of what to expect. The bezels on the display are incredibly thin and there is a front-firing 30W soundbar at the bottom with the Motorola logo in the middle. It will have support for DTS TruSurround Sound and Dolby Audio technology for an immersive audio experience.

Other specifications of the TV are still under the wraps but expect more leaks to pop up before the official launch. From what we know so far, it is highly unlikely that the Motorola Smart TV will be a budget-friendly product.
