The T20 Cricket World Cup will be played in Australia in October 2020. The mega event is fast approaching and cricket enthusiasts are anticipating thrilling contests.
However, the organizers of the T20 Cricket World Cup are unsure about holding a warm-up match between India and Pakistan.
According to Nick Hockley, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the International Cricket Council 2020 T20 World Cup, the organizing body has not yet scheduled a warm-up match between India and Pakistan.
Notably, India and Pakistan will not encounter each other during the first round of the world cup.
Nick Hockley said:
Wherever I go, I am asked about the Pakistan and India encounter. We have still not taken a decision over their warm-up match in the event. The traditional rivalry becomes the focus of fans around the world.
Hockley acknowledged the magnitude of the traditional rivalry between India and Pakistan. There’s a possibility that India and Pakistan might go head to head in either the semifinals or the finals.
Regarding ticket sales of the mega event, Hockley said:
Ticket sales are at their peak. We will welcome all cricket fans from around the world. The warm-up match between Pakistan and India is yet to be decided. The two teams can compete in the semi-finals or finals.
The tickets are available for $5 to $20 for cricketing fans to come and witness the world cup.
Seven Australian cities will host men’s matches while women’s matches are scheduled in six cities. The organizing body is dedicated to providing a delightful overall experience to the incoming cricket fans.
There will be a lot of activities outside the stadiums as well during the World Cup encounters. Sydney’s Olympic Park will be hosting celebrations during the initial days of the mega event. Many activities are being set up in the city center along with other venues. Designated fan zones will be set up to cater to a wide variety of fan needs.
