Samsung Teases Another Foldable Smartphone Called W20 5G

Samsung Galaxy Fold hasn’t been around that long yet and it seems that the company is already gearing up to launch its next foldable phone.

Rumors say that Samsung’s next foldable smartphone would be a vertically folding device, similar to flip phones of old, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for the W20 5G. Just like the Galaxy Fold, the W20 5G will fold horizontally like a book.

The device is going to be unveiled at a press event in Wuhan, China. The invitation poster confirms that it will be announced on November 19 and will have 5G compatibility. Additionally, it also shows a design identical to the Galaxy Fold. It has a vertical triple camera setup in the corner and has a fingerprint reader on the side, just below the power and volume buttons.

There is not much known about the specifications yet, but it is expected to arrive with either Exynos 980 or 990 with a built-in 5G modem.

Keep in mind that this does not mean that the vertically folding smartphone was a false rumor. Samsung did officially tease the clamshell phone but it doesn’t seem to be ready yet. Expect to hear more about the new foldable device next week.
