Istanbul Airport Gets the ‘Airport of the Year’ Award

Istanbul Airport has won the first-ever “Readers Choice: Airport of the Year” award by International Airport Review (IAR).

The International Airport Review awards focus to acknowledge excellence within the aviation industry.

For the first time ever, the readers of IAR magazine were given an opportunity to vote for the best airport. The readers selected the best airport from a list of 10 airports.

The readers were advised to consider delays, real-time information, connectivity, amenities, staff’s behavior, cleanliness, and overall satisfaction while voting for the best airport.

Istanbul Airport won the “Readers Choice: Airport of the Year” category by an overwhelming majority. It surpassed world-class airports like London Heathrow Airport, Dubai International Airport, and Vancouver International Airport.

Expressing happiness on winning the award, the CEO of Istanbul Airport, Kadri Samsunlu said:

According to the Editor of International Airport Review, Tara Nolan, Istanbul Airport serves as a global hub between Europe, Africa, and Asia. Tara Nolan said:

Istanbul Airport is one of the newest airports in the country. It became operational on 29th October 2018 with an aim to become the world’s largest airport.
