Samsung Trademarks SAMOLED Displays Ahead of Galaxy S11 Launch

Samsung is undoubtedly known for producing some of the best displays on the market. Their AMOLED display panels are extremely popular among manufacturers for their superiority over LCD panels, thanks to deeper blacks and energy-saving capabilities.

The Korean tech giant is now planning to take its display quality to the next level for 2020 with a new technology called SAMOLED display. The Galaxy S11 will reportedly come with a SAMOLED display, a new display technology that the company trademarked for with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO).

Samsung has also filed the same trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The trademark’s description reveals that the new OLED display will also be featured in monitors, TVs, and digital signages. It is currently unknown what SAMOLED stands for, but it only appears to be a combination of Samsung and OLED.

There are currently no details on this technology, but major display improvements are expected for future Samsung devices, especially the Galaxy S11. However, keep in mind that this is only speculation and nothing is certain just yet.

More details on SAMOLED are expected to surface as the launch of the Galaxy S11 draws near.
