Mahmood Khan, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has green-lit the construction of the 339-Kilometer long Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan motorway.
The approval was given after the CM met lawmakers from that area at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
Ajmal Wazir, spokesperson for the government, and Shehryar Afridi, State Minister for States and Frontier Regions told the media that the motorway will connect the region better with the rest of the province. Wazir added that it will start from Chamkani area of Peshawar, pass through Darra Adamkhel, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat and Tank, and end in DI Khan.
The meeting talked about the arrangement of the 339-kilometer long motorway. There will be 15 interchanges to boost economic opportunities for the regions. He further added that the CM has asked the relevant officials to come up with the locations for the interchanges after talking to the people’s representatives.
Wazir also said that the CM has directed for early completion on the dualization of the Indus Highway. He stressed that both these roads will boost development in the region.
He said that the motorway is a leading project of the government for the region to better facilitate the people.

Roads banany si hi qomain banti hai. but sharth ye hai k ye roads connecting cities ho. Inter city transport ka apna faida, but agr major cities hi apas mi connect na ho to kya faida.
For example Pesh, koha, DI khan has one of worst transport. it will take 6hrs to cover 250KM distance. There is no direct road to connect Lahore with KPK south. (already has, but worst condition)

The motorway under CPEC is DIKhan Hakla motorway which connects western route to central route of CPEC from DIKhan and Islamabad. This is the new project announced two days ago by KP government.

This is another BRT project in making. PTI is incapable of materialising a small project of BRT despite of numeroua deadlines given, how will they complete 339 km project. 2ndly Tank is at distance from DIKhan therefore a link road ahould be given to Tank rather than mapping motorway to Dikhan through Tank.
Do you remember the famous Takhtbhai bridge which took more than 25 years???? Keep knowledge of the previous shit governments. BRT is an outstanding project which normally takes 3 years time but this had been completed in record time of 18 months. The rest are allied structures which will be completed soon. So keep inform you with the engineering world.

Good step. Must be appreciated if completed in next four years. A Railway must also be constructed on the same alignment extending to Quetta and Gwadar on one hand and from Peshawar to Durgai Swat, Gilgit and Kashgar on the other hand. That will be a game changer indeed.
