If images circulating on social media are to be believed, Pak Suzuki is going to launch the 1,000cc Wagon-R VXL automatic gear shift (AGS) soon.
Here’s a leaked image of the gear shifter:
Till now, Wagon-R VXL was available with a 5-speed manual transmission. The AGS variant of Wagon-R VXL is expected to hit the roads either before the end of 2019 or early next year.
Since the start of the fiscal year 2019-2020, sales of Wagon-R have declined 72%. From July to December this year, just 3,339 units of Wagon-R were sold, unlike last year when 13,341 units were sold during the same period.
For years, Wagon-R remained the company’s bestselling vehicle after Mehran despite having no airbags, no ABS, no power mirrors, and with just 2 power windows.
Pak Suzuki is hopeful that the introduction of an automatic gear shift model will increase the sales of the Wagon-R. The top-trim of Wagon-R VXL with 5-speed manual transmission is already selling at a price of Rs. 1.625 million. With the addition of the automatic gear shift in Wagon-R VXL, its price is expected to be around Rs. 1.725 million. Wagon-R VXL (AGS) will rival Toyota Passo and Vitz in prices.
Pak Suzuki is yet to reveal the launch date and official price of Wagon-R VXL (AGS). Watch this space for more on Wagon-R AGS.
yeah and the price would be 2.5mil – crap suzuki
AGS is not an automatic transmission. It is a manual transmission with an auto gear changer. It’s a jerky experience.
