Toyota Increases Prices for Several Corolla Models

On one hand, Toyota Indus Motor Company is offering free registration on the purchase of the Corolla XLi 1.3L while on the other, they have hiked the prices of their 1.3L Corolla variants and it isn’t even the 2nd day of the New Year.

The company has followed in the footsteps of Suzuki and increased prices by Rs. 20,000. The hike is applicable on the all the 1.3L variants of Corolla. You can see the new prices below:

Model Old Price

New Price

GLi Automatic 2,849,000 2,869,000 20,000

No reason has been given for the increase in prices. The company has been hit by a sustained fall in sales as it saw sales drop by 25.94% during the first 11 months of 2019 as compared to the same period in 2018.

During the January-November 2019 period, it sold 38,427 units of Corolla as compared to 49,858 units in the same period in 2018.

Let us know what you think of the hike in the comments below?

  • Its highly unjustified.Pakistani Corolla’s price is not justified with this price.quality of body, paint, safety and comfort is far below as compared to rest world.please have pity on pakistan.

  • When market is down trend , such increased in prices of Toyota Corolla ultimate outcome will be more decline in sales.

  • It is requested from Pakistani nation that they should give a United response to Toyota against it’s unjustified price hike and low international standards so that they are compelled to reduce the prices. Prices in India are about 60 % less than in Pakistan. Surprisingly no one is here to control the prices and monopoly of Toyota.

  • I think price in Pakistan, if compared to India, is almost equal, when we calculate as per forex exchange rate of INR to PKR i.e. 1 INR : 2.16 PKR. Corolla 2020 in India is estimated at INR 15 lac, which makes it PKR 32,40,000 for Pakistan. Nevertheless, due to low quality manufacturing, sub standard parts, lack of comfort and above all the name tag of “donkey cart”, there are all the more reasons to switch for a better option other than toyota corolla.
