Turkey to Help Pakistan Get Out of FATF Greylist

Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has assured Pakistan of his unflinching support on opposing the country’s blacklisting by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Our friendship is based on love and respect.

The Turkish premier said this while addressing a joint session of Parliament on Friday. The terror financing watchdog’s next meeting is scheduled in Paris on 16th February and Erdogan has vowed to help Pakistan get out of the greylist.

Despite all the pressure, I assure you Turkey’s unflinching support at the FATF.

“Pakistan’s pain is our pain”, he added while thanking the people of Pakistan for such a warm welcome.

Earlier this week, Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief, Hafiz Saeed was arrested as part of Islamabad’s plans to get off the greylist.

Talking about Kashmir, the Turkish President said that the issue can only be resolved through justice.

“For Turkey, Kashmir is as [important as] it is for Pakistan”, he said while adding that the Turkish people feel the pain of their Kashmiri brethren and that Ankara will continue to support Pakistan at all fronts in this regard.
