Hyundai Shows Off The Latest Model Elantra at Pakistan Auto Show 2020

By Waleed Shah and Hasan Saeed

Hyundai had multiple models to show off at the Pakistan Auto Show 2020. One of these included a 2020 Hyundai Elantra, which isn’t officially available or coming to Pakistan yet. However, Hyundai Nishat is in talks to release it in Pakistan soon and hopes to launch it later this year.

With the Elantra, Hyundai Nishat looks towards making its presence known in the market. The car is a compact sedan that is intended to go up against the likes of the Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla Altis.

Looking to have another crack at success in the Pakistani Automotive Market, Hyundai has launched this contemporary compact sedan that has all the bells & whistles and utility to give the competitors a run for their money. So without further delay, here’s everything you need to know about the Hyundai Elantra:

Exterior

In terms of the exterior design, the new Elantra is an interesting mesh between sportiness and smooth, flowing aesthetics. The car features a wedge-like headlight, front bumper, front grille and taillight designs that surprisingly enough, seem to complement its overall smooth and round silhouette, making it a fairly handsome looking car.

The headlamps are Dynamic LED Quad Projectors that also include sharp triangular Daytime Running Lights that enhance the front end look. As per the prevalent trend among automakers these days, the car also features a huge front grille that gives the car a bit more assertiveness.

On the side, the car features side-mirrors with integrated turn signals. However, the most noticeable aesthetic element is the chrome door-handles that give the car a regal look. Integrated into the door handles are pocket lights that not only give the car a high-end feel but also come in handy in the dark.

On the rear, the car has a cutting-edge tail light design, accompanied with neat, checkmark shaped reflectors integrated at the bottom of the rear bumper. The car also features a glass antenna on the roof to give it a classier look as well as provide better radio signals.

Interior

The new Elantra boasts a roomy, contemporary and elegant interior loaded with the latest tech-features and eye-catching aesthetics such as a silver trim, a combination of cream and black leather, panels and seats, multi-colored instrument cluster, and a simple and easy to operate center control stack.

The car features a smart touch-screen infotainment system that includes multiple features such as navigation, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, video playing mode, etc. The car also has rear air vents for dual-zone air conditioning.

The instrument cluster includes all the vital information including speedometer, tachometer, engine temperature, etc. The steering wheel controls help the driver modulate various functions of the car including the sound system and cell-phone connectivity.

Engine

The engine is a 1.6 liter, DOHC, 4 cylinder, 16 Valve, gasoline-powered motor, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, capable of generating about 126 horsepower and about 154 newton/meters of torque. The numbers seem quite impressive for a naturally aspirated engine.

Price and Availability

As mentioned at the start, Hyundai hasn’t officially launched/unveiled the Elantra yet but is planning to do it soon. There are no pricing and availability details yet.

Internationally, the Elantra costs between $18,000 – $22,000 for different trims which roughly translates to Rs. 2.77 million to Rs. 3.4 million. Expect the car to cost upwards of Rs. 5 million, based on the kind of pricing Hyundai has for its other cars in Pakistan.

  • Hyundai can predict a demise before launch if it set a price of 5 milliion against Civic and Corolla.

  • A big lolz at the safety features.. These are normal specs available in every car now a days…and mostly are actually driving assists rather then safety… Actuall safety features are way better/different then these…but this is what is given and above that accepted for cars being launched in Pakistan.. authorities should put some essential features for car manufacturers to be put in vehicles to provide a better product to Pakistani public…

  • It’s price will be under 4 million. In 5 million bracket, Tuson/Sportage will compete.

    • a car they sell forum around 35lakh internationally, you want it to sell 10-12?

What are you smoking sir :D

    • Yes, if they will sale it around 5 to 8 lac then they will King in All over the world market , Lolx
