Chris Jordan Names the Player Who Got the PSL 2020 Postponed

England seamer, Chris Jordan, has revealed that it was Alex Hales who experienced COVID-19 symptoms after the pandemic got worse in March. Following the news, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 was immediately postponed indefinitely.

I spoke to Alex when he began to feel unwell, he contacted the guys in our team to let them know what he was experiencing and from there things moved pretty quickly.

Alex Hales contacted the players which forced the board to conduct tests of all the players and PSL staff while postponing the league fearing that Hales, or someone who got into contact with Hales, might spread the virus to one of the players or the officials.

Hales later tested negative for coronavirus but by that time the PSL had already been postponed indefinitely and most players had already booked their seats back to home.

Talking about his own experience, the Sussex fast bowler has no regrets about his decision to stay in Pakistan despite most of the foreign players leaving due to the worsening coronavirus situation worldwide.

Like other cricketers, Jordan was also tested for the virus and his report came out to be negative later.

We took the test, but I wasn’t overly concerned because I had been following it quite closely. I knew it could take anyone down but also that there have been many more recoveries.

Once I had an understanding of how it was attacking people and who was most vulnerable to it, I tried to stay pretty calm about it. Some people who have had it don’t show symptoms so it was important that I knew so that I could keep myself to myself.

“It was up to each person to make their own decision and everyone has their own scenario – be it their family or their kids. It wasn’t a case of ‘one go, all go’ or ‘one stay, all stay”, Jordan reflected on his decision in an interview later.

Jordan said that he believed he was safe in Pakistan compared to England as the country only had a few cases when he was here.

The fast bowler is now in lockdown in England while his close family is staying in Barbados.
