The Punjab police has decided to ban popular battle royale shooter PUBG in Lahore after two teenagers killed themselves over the online video game, the department announced on Tuesday.
The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Punjab Police, Ashfaq Khan, has decided to write a letter to the Federal Investigation Agency and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) requesting them to ban PUBG in Lahore.
PUBG is a battle royale based survival game where 100 players are dropped onto a large battlefield where they battle it out for loot and chicken dinners (#1 spot). Since its launch, the game has done exceptionally well with millions of players downloading the game during the first week of launch. In December 2019, PUBG Mobile had 200 million more downloads.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) directed concerned authorities to ban the mobile game in the region following its “negative impact on children”. The recent suicide cases have been registered by the police and further investigations are underway.
As of now, reports claim that the suicide cases occurred due to the teenagers being told to stop playing PUBG.

Pubg,I know it’s a beautiful video game but nowadays young generation over use it and it’s totally based on killing and shooting someone and over using it is programming our minds to commit things which are bad like the two teen-agers killed themselves so my personal suggestion about it is it should be banned not just in lahore or Pakistan but throughout the world.or it can cause many more death’s.

PUBG is just a game. Playing FPS games does not lead to suicide or killings others. These two suicides are not because of PUBG, it is because the kids were spoiled and could not take no for an answer. Tarbiyat ka qasoor hai janab. LHC , PTA should have some common sense.

It should be banned. Not because the content is violent but being main reason of wastage of time and money as compared to other games.
I think, anything whose uses get cross limitations has always been harmful for youth, then whichever the case may be. pubg, tiktok and such type of other stuff is making especially the youth undisciplined, and keeping them away from creativity, culture and interest of education. If we take these things under consideration, then it should be banned sincerely.
True for non existence of physical activities in present age. But solution doesnt lay in banning a couple of apps. Sooner or later another app will take its place. So act logical. parents should limit screen time for kids, and “avoid handing over phone in teen age”.
LHC should spent its time on real estate mafia who are cutting plots on playgrounds and parks rather banning apps for which they didnt even have a clue..
Abuzer, don’t allowing the children to keep remaining on glamorous mobile screen is more difficult task than to banning the apps. By the way, your point of physical activity is valid which shows that you are also not in the favour of much usages of video games that I have mentioned earlier in my previous comment. I am not saying Banning is not the Panacea but it may be a remedial solution for not making the games a drug. ☺
Don’t ban pubg because it is a really good game the two youngsters who commit suicide is due to that they dont have enough control on there minds I am also teenage boy but I am playing this game for 1 year and nothing happens to me because I am able to control my mind.
