PUBG Developer Tops Revenue Charts in China

SensorTower China, a market intelligence and insights provider for the global app economy has just released a list of top 30 game publishers for both AppStore and Google Play based on the revenue.

According to the report, collectively, the 30 publishers in China roped in more than 1.65 Billion US Dollars in revenue in June alone and account for 26 percent of the global mobile gaming revenue for June 2020.

Where Tencent and NetEase have made it to the top, other familiar publishers like Lilith Games, FunPlus, Lingxi Games, and YOOZOO rounded up the top six.

Despite doing considerably well amidst the pandemic where most housebound masses are resorting to games for entertainment, analysts say that the overall gaming market revenue is declining in China, UK, and the US. The Japanese market, on the other hand, saw a rise in revenue.

However, some analysts believe that this situation will not persist, and the gaming industry will possibly bring in record-breaking figures. Since games like “The Outcast Mobile” from Tencent are taking the market by storm. The new game is already bringing in a sizeable amount of revenue previously brought in by games like PUBG Mobile and King of Glory. More game releases like this are expected in the near future.
