Istanbul-Tehran-Islamabad Train to Resume Operations This Week

The Istanbul-Tehran-Islamabad (ITI) train will resume operations from 4th March 2021 after nine long years.

The national railways of Turkey, Iran, and Pakistan have mutually agreed to resume regular operations of the ITI container train. As per reports, all requirements for the railway triad have been fulfilled.

Announcing the news via Twitter, the Advisor to Prime Minister for Commerce, Textile, Industry, and Production, and Investment, Abdul Razak Dawood, informed that the ITI Freight Train would complete a one-side trip in 12-days, with a capacity to move 750 MT of goods.

Initially launched in 2009, the ITI framework exists within the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). Currently, all three countries are actively promoting the project for swift operations from 4th March 2021.
