The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has allowed citizens aged 70 years and above to visit their nearest vaccination centers to get inoculated against the coronavirus.
An official statement from the NCOC detailed that the citizens in the specified age group who have registered on the helpline 1166 can now get vaccinated. Additionally, the facility for walk-in vaccinations is available in all the federal units, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The NCOC has directed senior citizens to register to be vaccinated by sending their CNIC numbers to 1166 via SMS and then visiting the domicile-specific vaccination centers on cue. It has been advised that senior citizens aged 70 and above should get vaccinated promptly.
The President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, and his wife recently got vaccinated at Tarlai, Islamabad, and requested everyone to ensure swift facilitation for the vaccination of senior citizens as the highest number of the COVID-19 mortality cases have been reported in this age group.

Phase-II of the countrywide vaccination drive is in full swing, and the vaccine deployment pool will broaden as more shipments of the vaccine arrive in recurring phases. Pakistan will reportedly receive its first shipment of 500,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine after a deal was made with the Chinese manufacturing company.
