Punjab Govt Finds A Solution to End Unannounced Load Shedding

The government of Punjab has reportedly finalized plans to end load shedding and tripping across the entire provincial block after several months of resorting to short-term solutions with long-term infrastructural costs.

At the same time, the provincial cabinet has also approved a Punjab-specific grid and transmission company to entertain large-scale power and energy projects in the future.

The provincial Energy Department is expected to receive Rs. 20 million as an investment backup for the establishment of the company. Expected to start by the end of this year, the new transmission and grid company will lay down power cables across all of the Punjab.

It is estimated that the province will be free of electricity load shedding and tripping once this is completed. The provincial government is expecting solar projects at selected hospitals to be inaugurated right after Eid.
