Sindh May Get 2 Public Holidays on Eid Milad un Nabi

Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori announced his intention to discuss with the prime minister and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah the possibility of declaring the 11th of Rabiul Awwal as a public holiday, alongside the 12th, in celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

He made this statement on Wednesday while speaking to the media after presiding over a meeting at the Governor House to review preparations for Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The conference, attended by Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail and various religious scholars, focused on arrangements for processions and gatherings related to the spiritual event.

Governor Tessori also announced a grand celebration at the Governor House on 12th Rabiul Awwal (September 17), which would include special illumination and be open to the public.

He further highlighted that religious scholars had proposed the idea of public holidays on both the 11th and 12th Rabiul Awwal, and he intended to bring this proposal to the attention of both the prime minister and the Sindh chief minister.

Scholars present at the meeting included Maulana Kaukab Okarawi, Jameel Rathore, Shahid Ghouri, and others. The governor expressed his gratitude for the chance to serve the people, noting the significance of his appointment coinciding with the 12th Rabiul Awwal. He emphasized that the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) marked the end of ignorance in the world.
