Donoghue Graduate Scholarship

You must be admitted to a master’s or doctoral program at K‑State with enrollment beginning Fall 2026.
You must have a .5 FTE graduate assistantship appointment each semester the scholarship is active (teaching or research assistantship).
Current graduate students are not eligible — only new incoming students.

Graduate programs nominate students (students cannot self‑nominate).
Programs submit nominations to the Graduate School with supporting details.

The scholarship is credited to your student financial account, half at the start of the Fall semester and half at the start of the Spring semester.

Selected students are notified (generally by late February 2026) and must accept or decline by mid‑April.
Scholarships start in Fall 2026 and cannot be deferred to another semester.

To renew for a second year, students usually must:

Maintain a minimum GPA (often around 3.4).
Keep a .5 FTE assistantship appointment.
Participate in Graduate School activities, leadership roles, and professional development.

The awarding decisions are made by the Graduate School based on nominations from academic programs, academic excellence, and fit with research/assistantship plans.
