Scholars begin their research journey at an A*STAR Research Institute while registering for a PhD or EngD at a participating autonomous university such as the National University of Singapore. Applicants can pursue research through one of four AGS tracks:

- Semiconductor
These tracks cover a broad range of research fields, including biomedical sciences, engineering, chemistry, physics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software engineering, quantum technologies, semiconductor technologies, and related disciplines. Scholars also gain international research exposure through an overseas attachment of up to 12 months. After completing their doctorate, they may apply for the A*STAR International Fellowship (AIF) to undertake postdoctoral training at leading overseas universities or research institutions.

Eligibility Criteria
