The AEON Scholarship supports newly enrolling international students at the International University of Japan (IUJ). The AEON 1% Club funds this external scholarship. IUJ first selects qualified candidates from successful admission applicants. Then, the university nominates them to the AEON 1% Club for final consideration. Therefore, students cannot apply directly to AEON without an IUJ nomination. The scholarship remains highly competitive and forms part of IUJ’s nominated scholarship programs.

Background and Purpose

The AEON 1% Club operates as the international philanthropic branch of AEON. It promotes environmental conservation, cultural exchange, international understanding, and community development. Accordingly, the scholarship supports students who share these values. It specifically targets students from selected Asian countries. Moreover, it aims to strengthen ties between Japan and other Asian nations. Recipients must act as bridges between their home countries and Japan. Through this initiative, AEON encourages peace, respect for humanity, and intercultural cooperation.

AEON Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship provides strong financial support. First, it covers full tuition fees. Second, it offers a partial exemption of the admission fee, while the student pays the remaining portion. In addition, recipients receive a monthly stipend to cover living expenses. Although the scholarship does not guarantee travel, research, or health insurance allowances, the stipend helps manage basic living costs in Japan for two years.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must enroll full-time in a two-year master’s program at IUJ. Eligible programs include those in the Graduate School of International Relations, such as IRP, IDP, and PMPP, as well as programs in the Graduate School of International Management, including the MBA and JGDP. Candidates must demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. Furthermore, they must show commitment to intercultural exchange and community engagement. Applicants must not receive another institutional scholarship. They must also maintain good conduct and strong academic performance. Importantly, candidates need Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N3 or higher.

AEON Scholarship Application Process

Students must first complete the IUJ admission application. IUJ reviews applicants through its standard admissions and scholarship process. Afterward, IUJ nominates selected candidates to the AEON 1% Club. Finally, recipients must attend the official scholarship certificate award ceremony.
