The Chinese Government Scholarship – Chinese University Program at Dalian University of Technology (DUT) offers a fully funded postgraduate scholarship for outstanding international students. China’s Ministry of Education established the program to support Master’s and PhD students in advanced study during the 2026 academic year. DUT offers courses in both Chinese and English, depending on the chosen major.

Background and Purpose

The scholarship aims to attract talented international students to pursue high-level academic training and research in China. By providing financial support and academic resources, the program strengthens global academic exchange. It also prepares students for professional and research careers in their home countries or internationally.

Chinese University Program Benefits

Recipients receive full tuition coverage and free on-campus accommodation. They also receive a monthly living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance. Master’s students receive ¥3,000 per month, while doctoral students receive ¥3,500 per month. The scholarship covers the full duration of study—three years for Master’s and four years for PhD candidates. However, it does not cover international travel costs.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health. They must meet age requirements: under 35 for Master’s and under 40 for PhD applicants. Students must hold the relevant degree for their target study level. Language requirements depend on the program. Chinese-taught majors require HSK certification at a level appropriate for the field. English-taught programs require recognized English test scores, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo. Applicants without certificates may undergo interviews or written tests.

Chinese University Program Application Process

Applicants submit applications for the Chinese University Program through the China Scholarship Council’s CSC Online Application System (use DUT’s agency number 10141) and DUT’s international admissions portal. The application window opens on November 1, 2025, and closes on February 15, 2026. Candidates must complete all steps and provide the required documents to be considered.

Opportunities for Scholars

Scholars gain access to world-class facilities and a multicultural campus environment through the Chinese Government Program. They receive immersive academic training in China and gain valuable research experience. The program develops professional skills and provides international exposure, enhancing scholars’ future academic and career prospects.
