The University of Nottingham is a public research university located in Nottingham, England. It received a royal charter in 1948, officially becoming a university. The university also includes Jubilee Campus and the teaching hospital, Queen’s Medical Centre. The main campus operates several smaller campuses and sites across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Internationally, the university maintains campuses in Semenyih, Malaysia, and Ningbo, China.
The university is organized into five faculties. It serves over 46,000 students and employs around 7,000 staff across its campuses in the UK, China, and Malaysia. The QS World University Rankings 2026 have placed the university at #97.
