World Cup Points Table 2019 Standings Criteria

At the end of the league stage, i.e. 45 matches, the top 4 teams will automatically qualify for the semi-finals. If two or more teams have won the same number of matches, their fate will be decided based on the net run rate. A team with better net run rate will edge past the others with same points, to qualify for the next phase.

Pakistan would be hoping to repeat the triumph of 1992 World Cup, which was played on the same format as this year’s. However, it was attributed to quite some luck that they finished in the top 4 and later stepped up their game to lift the trophy.

The World Cup 2019 is being played in England and Wales where the weather plays a key role in determining the outcomes of matches. With Pakistan having already won a major ICC tournament in recent years in England, they will not be a team to write off early in the tournament.
