Atif Aslam put out a break-up song and its just in time for Valentine’s Day. The song Baarishein is out already.
Valentine’s day is almost here and there’s plenty of single fish in the sea. While Atif Aslam has put out plenty of sad songs (many of which are favorites), how many people are feeling the solitary vibe right before Valentine’s?

While 12 Bajay was about Atif exploring new tunes and genres with a trippy video and an alt-rock tune, this song is…… well you will have to listen to it first.
As for us, we can’t decide whether Atif is onto something here or not. That’s the thing with break-up songs – they make you indecisive at best.

Not Feeling This Baarishein
While we love Atif’s signature heartbreak ballads, the timing seems off with Bareeshein. The lyrics to Baarishein were penned by Indian lyricist Arko.
Baarishein features Pyaar Ka Punchnama actress Nushrat Bharucha in the music video with Atif. Despite the inclusion of the Indian actress, this is not another tune for a movie soundtrack.
The song speaks of mad love that ends in a heartbreak. The music video gives us flashbacks of the warm relationship between Atif and Nushrat. The before and after of the couple’s relationship is captured nicely in the music video.
However, neither the video nor the lyrics explain how things fell apart.
For all the single folks out there this Valentine’s Day, we suggest listening to independence anthems instead. Maybe 12 Bajay’s emphasis on self-love and self-discovery is what we’re looking for. Atif Aslam can certainly do better than Baarishein.
