With all the backlash over lead actor Ahmed Ali Akbar using blackface for the titular role in ‘Parizaad‘, the drama serial seems to have an interesting story.
Despite the creator’s choice to have Ahmed Ali Akbar adopt a questionable means of characterization and the rest of the cast just rolling with it, the Parizaad cast is pretty stellar. Yumna Zaidi plays a part in the serial, enough said.

The trailers have given us no hints regarding her character but we expect her to blow us away as she did with Dil Na Umeed Tou Nahi and Inkaar.
The Plus Side of Parizaad
The Parizaad cast is packed with big names like Urwa Hocane, Naumaan Ijaz, Mohammed Ahmed, Ushna Shah, Saboor Ali, Mashal Khan, Adnan Shah Tipu, Saleem Meraj, Madiha Rizvi, Kiran Tabeir, and Salma Hassan.
Aside from the star power, the drama seems to tackle the issue of poverty pushing people into a life of crime. Then there’s also the matter of how hardship fuels art and Parizaad‘s poetry is an extension of his hope.
Are we finally getting a drama serial that addresses that when young people don’t have creative outlets and platforms to hone that creativity, we see a spike in their aggression?

With Nadeem Hashmi as the man behind the script, we might be in for a psychological trip. This is the man that gave us blockbusters like Ishq Zah-e-Naseeb, and current favorite Raqs-e-Bismil.
That also means there’s a lot of anguish and anticipation in store for viewers.
