It won&#8217;t.\u00a0However, it will cost Bollywood a lot though.<\/p>\n<p>History has proven time and time again that movies that do well in Pakistan make it big like <em>Bajrangi Bhaijaan<\/em>. Those that don&#8217;t, tank at the box office like <em>Pari\u00a0<\/em>and <em>Ay Dil Hai Mushkil<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Indian media reported that movies still in the pipeline like\u00a0<em>Badla<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Kesari<\/em>\u00a0will also not release in Pakistan.<\/p>\n<h3>It will Cost Bollywood a Pretty Penny<\/h3>\n<p>Indian media reports that Pakistan only amounts to five percent of earnings. Yet almost all movies that don&#8217;t do well in Pakistan bite the dust at the box office.<\/p>\n<p>Initially,\u00a0<em>Luka Chhupi<\/em>\u00a0had been estimated to rein in as many profits as\u00a0<em>Simmba.\u00a0<\/em>Now that it won&#8217;t release in Pakistan, things are looking dim for the rom-com.<\/p>\n<p>While the common Indian man may not understand the magnitude of potential losses, Bollywood film-makers do. That is why they are already scrambling to make up for losses from not releasing in Pakistan. They now have to sell those rights to other territories.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe have to agree that we need to place the country before everything else. So if there is a shortfall in the monies to be recovered from the sale of the films \u2014 filmmakers are now re-negotiating with the channels and digital platforms asking for a higher price from the satellite and digital sales of the film because they will not be able to recoup a certain sum of money for films that have already been made and sold for all territories including Pakistan. So, if the Pakistan deal is off, how does the recovery happen?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Film-makers are also trying to renegotiate deals.
