After Ajay Devgn, now Nawazuddin Siddiqui also announced that he won’t release his movie ‘Photograph<\/em>‘ in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

While Nawazuddin Siddiqui had no problem\u00a0playing Pakistani poet Manto (Sarmad\u00a0Khosat totally did it better), where is this sass coming from all of a sudden?<\/p>\n

This is India’s attempt at hitting back at Pakistan\u00a0through cinema warfare. It sure looks like the war clouds are not just blocking out the sun in those parts but also any semblance of rationality.<\/p>\n

By not releasing\u00a0Bollywood movies in Pakistan, the Indian film industry is not doing itself any favor.<\/p>\n

No Photograph in Pakistan<\/h3>\n

The news is that while the Manto actor was out promoting his film Photograph<\/em>, he announced that he doesn’t want\u00a0his movie released in Pakistan. He then rationalized that by saying that ‘the film has already received great reviews<\/em>‘.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want Photograph to release in Pakistan,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Critically acclaimed films do not guarantee\u00a0good revenue. Often the critics choice is not the people’s choice.\u00a0Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s 2003 film Firaaq<\/em> also received\u00a0good reviews but tanked at the box office. Same goes with\u00a0Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Bombay Talkies.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

For those who follow his career in depth, Nawazuddini is actually an indie film actor. His indie films are critically acclaimed for their ingenuity and strong script but may not be the best performers at the box office. The winning formula for a commercial film is much different.<\/p>\n

Such a Sad Turn for a Fan Favorite Actor<\/h3>\n

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has a huge fan following in Pakistan. Particularly\u00a0when he played the lead in Nandita Das’s version of Manto<\/em>.<\/p>\n
