Emmy award-winning\u00a0Pakistani-British actor Riz Ahmed\u00a0will\u00a0produce and act in music drama Mughal Mowgli<\/em>. Riz Ahmed also co-wrote the script.<\/p>\n

The movie will be about a British Pakistani rapper who is stuck at a crossroads where he can go after the big break he’s been working on or take downtime to recover from a mysterious illness that he’s contracted.<\/p>\n

Mughal Mowgli<\/em> will mark the feature directorial debut of documentary film-maker Bassam Tariq.<\/p>\n

Mughal Mowgli to Start Production this Month<\/h3>\n

The film’s\u00a0production is set to begin this month. Riz Ahmed’s production house\u00a0Left Handed Films is producing the film.<\/p>\n

Silvertown Films, with BBC Films, Cinereach, SF FILM Invest, Vice Studios, and RYOT Films are also chipping in financially for the production of Mughal Mowgli.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Riz Ahmed started in the music industry before he became an actor. The Venom<\/em> star should feel right at home playing the role of a rapper.\u00a0 Back in 2011,\u00a0Riz Ahmed\u00a0released his debut solo album Englistan<\/em>.\u00a0He moved on to form popular duo Swet Shop Boys in 2014.<\/p>\n

Riz Ahmed won an Emmy for his role in HBO\u2019s The Night Of,\u00a0<\/em>making him the\u00a0first\u00a0British-Pakistani to\u00a0win an\u00a0Emmy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Riz\u00a0made it big in Hollywood with the role of Bodhi Rook, in the Stars Wars prequel\u00a0Rogue One<\/i>\u00a0(2016). Since then\u00a0he’s starred\u00a0in Jacques Audiard\u2019s The Sisters Brothers<\/em>,\u00a0Venom,\u00a0<\/em>and more.<\/p>\n
