The cast of Load Wedding, <\/em>especially Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat,\u00a0are happy that the government is doing something to curb the practice of dowry.<\/p>\n

Both the stars celebrated the legislative efforts to curb dowry, a socio-cultural issue highlighted in their film.<\/p>\n

Nabeel Qureshi’s Load Wedding<\/em> highlighted the inconvenient and problematic custom of dowry in Pakistan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now the\u00a0Punjab Assembly is making legislative efforts to address the social evil, by way of an anti-dowry resolution.<\/p>\n

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Uzma Zahid Bukhari demanded that the practice ‘be shunned in society by law<\/em>‘.<\/p>\n

The Punjab Assembly resolution to ban dowry created a wave of applause on social media. Among the crowd was the cast of the hit film Load Wedding<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Lead actress Mehwish Hayat was moved by the efforts made to outlaw dowry. The actress pointed out that ‘we can change anything if we strive and try together’.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
