A recent survey has shown the majority of Indian millennials are in favor of a country-wide ban on controversial Chinese video application TikTok.<\/p>\n
Renowned local news network\u00a0Inshorts<\/em> conducted a survey, and the results were shocking. Despite the exponential popularity of this application among the youngsters, a considerable share \u2013 80 percent \u2013 wanted it to be banned in the country.<\/p>\n The survey asked the same question to 30,000 participants aged between 18-35 years from major cities of India.<\/p>\n ALSO READ<\/p>\n Jacqueline Fernandez Tik Tok Videos Are Breaking the Internet<\/a><\/p>\n The question was whether they think TikTok should be banned in India \u2013 while 80 percent said yes, only 20 percent opposed the idea.<\/p>\n This has come just a week after the Madras High Court suggested the central government to ban TikTok, claiming that “it was encouraging pornography among youngsters.\u201d<\/p>\n The court in its observation said the Chinese application, ByteDance, was promoting inappropriate and obscene content to the young generation and that the central government had a social obligation to stop it.<\/p>\n ALSO READ<\/p>\n Huma Khan and Zhalay Sarhadi Join List of Pakistani Celebrities on TikTok<\/a><\/p>\n But, TikTok said they were committed to abide by the country\u2019s laws and regulations. The company told:<\/p>\n We fully comply with the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines) Rules, 2011.
