Who Owns The Copyrights to Maula Jutt Then?<\/h3>\n

Turns out that its an entity called the\u00a0Bahu<\/em> Films Corporation <\/strong>which owns the copyrights to Maula Jutt<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

This film was enrolled under an association deed between six different parties. Chaudhry Jamil and Sarwar Bhatti are the principle speculators in this deed. Yet they still do not constitute the entire ownership behind Jutt.<\/p>\n

Till now Sarwar Bhatti not only claimed but guaranteed that the motion picture was his sole ownership. Adding that only he possessed the entirety of the rights to the movie.<\/p>\n

In fact, his lawsuit in the Lahore High Court against The Legend of Maula Jatt<\/em><\/strong> film-makers was based on this clause. Director Bilal Lashari and producer Ammara Hikmat were the main accused.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The original partnership deed signed in 1978 proves that all films created under the Bahu<\/em> Films Corporation<\/strong> do not belong to any single individual.<\/p>\n

This observation makes Sarwar Bhatti’s claim to the Punjabi classic fraudulent. If The Legend of Maula Jutt<\/em><\/strong> film-makers obtained permission from one of the owners that’s sufficient.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Legend of Maula Jutt<\/strong><\/em> would have remained in legal limbo until Lashari and co paid up. Luckily, the case was turned around in their favor by one Saim Jamil.<\/p>\n

Chaudhry Jamil’s son Sarim Jamil came to know about the whole ordeal when it was plastered all over the media. He came forward after he saw Sarwar Bhatti blatantly lying about film ownership on the media.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sarwar Bhatti tried to gain sole ownership when Chaudhry Muhammad Jamil was murdered in 1996.<\/p>\n

Bhatti made a few attempts to get Chaudhry Muhammad Jamil’s widow to sign the ownership transfer papers, however she refused to do so.<\/p>\n

Saim Jamil’s legal counsel Advocate Almas Jovindah spilled the beans on Sarwar Bhatti failing to accounted for the rights of the partners in Bahu<\/em> Films Corporation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Sarwar Bhatti has been misrepresenting the facts and concealed documents from the court by stating that he owned the original Maula Jatt in a sole proprietorship. When in fact the movie like many others produced during that time, was the property of Bahu Films Corporation which was a partnership concern. Mr Sarwar Bhatti has been making many claims regarding the rightful owner when he himself has not accounted for the rights of the partners in Bahu Films Corporation”.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
