TV anchor Mureed Abbas, who was associated with a private news channel, was shot dead in Karachi last night.<\/p>\n
The firing incident took place at a local restaurant on Tuesday night, which also claimed the life of Mureed\u2019s friend Khizar Hayat.<\/p>\n
The shooter, Atif Zaman \u2013 a close friend and business partner of Abbas \u2013 fled the shooting scene. He later committed suicide at home. He reportedly shot himself an hour later after killing the TV journalist over an alleged business-related dispute.<\/p>\n
Police raided his house timely and found him bleeding profusely. Atif was shifted to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.<\/p>\n

The duo had had a verbal spat the other day.<\/p>\n Later, the killer reportedly called Mureed at a local caf\u00e9 under the pretext of returning the money and shot him.<\/p>\n https:\/\/twitter.com\/Rizwan_Bhullar\/status\/1148672041173884929<\/p>\n Abbas\u2019 wife released a video soon after the shooting, claiming that her husband had invested Rs. 5 million in Zaman\u2019s tire business.
