Actor-cum-singer Meesha Shafi has filed Rs. 2 billion in damages against former colleague Ali Zafar in Lahore High Court. \u00a0Meesha has accused Ali of making false allegations against her on media.<\/p>\n
The singer has demanded Rs. 1 billion as compensation for \u201cthe loss of goodwill and repute,\u201d while another Rs. 1 billion for \u201cmental torture\u201d she had to go through.<\/p>\n
Moreover, she has also asked the court to declare Ali Zafar\u2019s statements against her as \u201cfalse, malicious and defamatory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ali Gul Pir Responds After Ali Zafar Sends Harassment Notice To Him And Other Stars<\/a><\/p>\n In her petition, she opined that those statements were made to \u201cinjure her reputation in public.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt is prayed that the defendant (Zafar) be permanently restrained from making any further defamatory statement against the plaintiff (Shafi).\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Meesha’s lawyer has argued that Zafar\u2019s \u2018defamatory statements’ destroyed her reputation before her fans and had adversely affected her.<\/p>\n Almost a year ago, Meesha Shafi accused the \u2018Teefa in Trouble<\/strong>\u2019 actor of engaging in sexual harassment. Ali Zafar has denied these allegations and alleged that these accusations had severely affected his career.<\/p>\n He took the matter to the court where Meesha\u2019s consul kept seeking adjournments.<\/p>\n The hearing on the case started in April this year \u2013 one year after the lawsuit was filed \u2013 with some eyewitnesses terming Meesha\u2019s allegations as false.
