The first trailer for the drama adaptation of Humera Ahmed’s ‘Alif<\/em><\/strong>‘ is out. Hamza Ali Abbasi is being well ‘not so-Pyaray Afzal<\/em>‘ while Sajal Aly is fierce.<\/p>\n

Even before the novel Alif<\/em><\/strong> was completed and hit bookshelves, a drama serial based on the book was already lined up. Humera Ahmed’s works are known for her over-the-top romances that do not alienate ‘baby-boomers’ and patriarchs but have drastic character transformations with enough potential for millennials to give it a shot.<\/p>\n

Alif<\/strong> has Hamza and Sajal and that’s enough to pique any Pakistani drama lovers’ interest.<\/p>\n

Hamza Ali Abbasi plays Qalb-e-Momin,<\/em> a ‘machista’ with a privileged and entitled attitude, basically personifying that it’s a man’s world out there. Meanwhile Sajal Aly as ‘Momina Sultan’<\/em>\u00a0 plays a resilient, principled and kind lady who embodies ‘divine feminine<\/em>‘ (yes ladies you can be free-spirited, strong and feminine).<\/p>\n

The best choice to play Momin.. Alif is not a typical female protagonist drama with typical issues of in laws …it\u2019s a great step through which we can convey the message that what we are here for&to be a better human rather than to focus on self achievements ,egos or diplomacy<\/p>\n
