Amidst this culture of hate and killings, a few sane minds are not afraid of voicing their concerns against rising crimes in the country. Renowned Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar is one of those people who want to set the record straight.<\/p>\n
Bhaskar, who previously attracted threats from Hindu extremists by speaking for oppressed Kashmiris, has now expressed concerns over the safety of women in India.<\/p>\n

Bollywood’s Swara Bhaskar Demonstrates Her Support For Kashmir<\/a><\/p>\n Referring to the increasing number of rape-and-murder cases, the actress stated that women\u2019s safety was no longer a concern that authorities were interested about. She highlighted that at least three of the country\u2019s lawmakers were accused of rape.<\/p>\n \u201cDue to this,\u201d she said, \u201crape victims have had to face serious consequences for reporting rape.\u201d<\/p>\n Declaring it an \u2018alarming situation for the society,\u2019 the \u2018Ranjhanaa<\/strong>\u2019 actress called on the country\u2019s politicians to \u2018walk the talk\u2019 with regards to women\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n Swara lamented that her previous \u2018call to attention\u2019 tweet was not taken seriously.<\/p>\n \u201cI tweeted regarding the same and one user\/ troll who made fun of the victim\u2019s ordeal by asking if I was raped as well, with a smile at the end of the sentence.
