This Survey Reveals All"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a fact that marriages take work. Gone are the days when partners, especially women, could just stick with an abusive spouse because of the &#8216;What will people say&#8217; syndrome.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, with the growth in a more educated and socially mobile middle class, there has been a rise in Pakistan&#8217;s divorce rate as well. Some people blame &#8216;love marriage&#8217; for this whereas some think its about partners being more cognizant of their rights.<\/p>\n<h3>Marriage in Pakistan<\/h3>\n<p>All this social commentary aside, how are Pakistanis finding their partners these days? A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/329032859_Divorce_Status_and_Its_Major_Reasons_in_Pakistan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">University of Agriculture Faisalabad study<\/a> proved that indeed Pakistan&#8217;s divorce rate is gradually increasing.<\/p>\n<p>The study used samples from three districts in Pakistan. While the rate of divorce was higher than the number of love marriages, many respondents still believed the rate of divorce is higher in love marriages due to the bigger expectations.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; letter-spacing: 5px; font-size: 16px; margin: 0;\">ALSO READ<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a style=\"font-size: 20px; font-weight: 600; font-family: Raleway ,sans-serif;\" href=\"https:\/\/propakistani.pk\/lens\/this-lahori-policemans-proposal-video-has-gone-viral\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">This Lahori Policeman&#8217;s Proposal Video Has Gone Viral!<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Yet they ranked other more rational reasons lower than love marriage being the cause.<\/p>\n<p>9.66% of respondents thought financial problems were to blame. 14.83% were of the view unemployment was the cause.<\/p>\n<p>5.62% blamed out lack of trust and 6.74% said higher education.<\/p>\n<p>5.17% pointed out religious conflict, and 5.62% listed misunderstanding were the major reasons for their respective divorces.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a fact that marriages take work.
