<\/p>\nThe Dabangg franchise continues to hit the box-office this year, however, this time, things aren’t going too well. The movie did not become an immediate big hit, but for Sonakshi, the welfare of her country is much more important than the success of the movie.<\/p>\n

Ongoing political upheaval and unrest in India over a citizenship law has raised concerns all over the world. Protests throughout Indian cities are getting bigger and bigger everyday, but, the government hasn’t taken any fundamental measures yet.<\/p>\n
Referring to the anti-CAA protests and the release of her new movie, Sonakshi Sinha spoke with the media at a Christmas celebration event with underprivileged kids of Angel Xpress Foundation.<\/p>\n
“We all know what is going on in the entire country. I think people know that what is more important, but I am honestly happy with audience response to our film. At this moment, entire country has come together on this matter (CAA protests) and it is more important than a film.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Dabangg 3 minted Rs 24.5 crore at the box-office on its first day of release, which is actually not a bad number. However, there are reports that the film got leaked on the internet, which has tremendously affected its business.<\/p>\n
“I don\u2019t know since how long we are urging the audience not to watch pirated films because it affects our industry in a negative way,” said Sonakshi.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nSonakshi then commented on the nationwide protests and said that the people shouldn’t be deprived of their rights to speak up.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very proud of the people who have come out and voiced their opinion. I am with them.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
When asked why Bollywood’ big names have avoided expressing their views on CAA, Sonakshi said, \u201cI think whoever wants to voice (an opinion) will voice, and whoever doesn\u2019t want, will not. After all, that is also their right.\u201d<\/p>\n
“When they (celebrities) hit the streets, then the entire focus shifts on them. We know media cameras start following them, and because of that other people might feel ignored. If people can understand that they are also a part of the crowd, then they would definitely come out.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
