Border patrol is one of hardest and often times dangerous duties for a solider, especially for the brave men posted at the Pakistan-India border. The two countries have not been on good terms for a long while and tensions are always high. One slip up can even lead to war!<\/p>\n

Last week, a junior officer from the Indian army slipped and fell into Pakistani side of the border! Due to heavy snow around occupied Kashmir, the soldier lost his footing and accidentally slipped across the border and into Pakistan.<\/p>\n

According to Khaleej Times, the officer has been identified as one Havildar Rajendra Singh Negi, who was on patrol duty around the Gulmarg area of Indian occupied Kashmir. Negi, a resident of Ambiwala Sainik Colony in Dehradun, had joined the 11 Garhwal Rifles regiment in 2002. He had arrived in Dehradun in October and was posted to the snowy area of Gulmarg in November.<\/p>\n

Negi’s family are left bereaved after his wife, Rajeshwari, got a phone call from Negi\u2019s unit telling her that her husband is missing and may have ended up in Pakistan. The solider\u2019s family has demanded the Indian government to ensure his safe and early return.<\/p>\n

According to the Indian Army, a search and rescue operation is underway and “all attempts” are being made to bring Negi back, the Gulf daily reported.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Pakistani authorities have not yet commented on the matter or acknowledged that the soldier is in their custody. Or maybe Negi\u2019s \u2018slip\u2019 could be due to the young officer\u2019s craving for that famous Pakistani chai he heard so much about. After all, it is fantastic!<\/p>\n
