There have been many debates concerning the topic of whether or not lab-grown meat is good or provides any substantial benefits. The Singaporean start-up called ” Shiok Meats” took it into their own hands to create slaughter-free shrimp, crabs, and lobster.<\/p>\n

While the evolutionary initiative aims to focus on stopping marine life going extinct, several people argue that produce from lab-based farming is not affordable for many. Lab-based farming produces meat using animal cells, which is a complex process and requires over-the-top technology. One must wonder whether these ambitious projects have any value at all.<\/p>\n

Such produce is usually promoted for the reasons that it strives to meet demands of a growing population and eliminate world hunger. However, it also is overly pricey and has not proven to reduce exploitation of animals.<\/p>\n

In a statement, founder Shriram tells the media that:<\/p>\n

“We chose to start with shrimp because it\u2019s an easier animal to deal with compared to crabs and lobsters.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As easy as the process can be for the founders, a small little dumpling is made for under $200-300. The process to create it might seem easy, but the financial costs alone are enough to give anyone a pause.<\/p>\n
