Parasite vs random Indian Movie<\/h3>\n

Just last week, director Bong Joon Ho took home four Academy Awards including the ‘Best Original Screenplay’. And with that came accusations of plagiarism from an unexpected region of the world.<\/p>\n

Indian film producer P.L Thenappan, who mostly works for Tamil language films, alleged that Parasite is a plagiarized version of his 1999 movie Minsara Kanna<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

According to news reports, he also announced to file lawsuit against the South Korean filmmakers for ‘lifting the plot of his film’.<\/p>\n

“With the help of an international lawyer, I will be filing a case against the makers of Parasite. They have lifted the plot from my film Minsara Kanna. When they find out that some of our films have been inspired by their films, they file cases so we can also do that,” said P.L Thenappan.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On the other hand, the director of Minsara Kanna said that he is happy that his film got International recognition.<\/p>\n

“Even though Minsara Kanna served as an inspiration, I am happy that Parasite has received an Oscar. As for filing a case, the decision rests on the producer.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The ‘evidence’ so far<\/h3>\n

All that being said, Indian critics have refuted the claims of ‘plagiarism’ because both the films are different. Here are the differences:<\/p>\n

Parasite<\/strong><\/em> is a black comedy movie that focuses on the struggles of a poor family<\/strong> and also emphasizes the impact of capitalism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Whereas, Minsara Kanna<\/em><\/strong> revolves around a wealthy boy<\/strong> (Vijay), who works at the home of a businesswoman. Vijay’s primary focus in this film is to succeed in love<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
